The 2016 season schedule was released today for Lonesome Pine Raceway. Similar to the last season, 2016 will begin in early April and run through early September.
A total of 13 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events will take place throughout the season. Each event will feature racing in Late Model Stock Car, Modified Street, Pure 4, Mod 4, and Pure Street. Bandeleros and Legend Cars will also compete on a part-time basis in 2016.
The season-opening event will be held on Saturday, April 9 with the green flag at 7 PM.
“The Pine” will also feature the Southeast Super Truck Series, Southeast Super Stock Series, and Carolina Vintage Racers on Saturday, May 21.
“We can’t wait to get the 2016 season underway at LPR,” said general manager and promoter Karen Tunnell. “2016 looks to be another exciting year of grassroots racing in Southwest Virginia.”
For the third season in a row, Lonesome Pine Raceway will team with Kingsport (Tennessee) Speedway. The speedways first partnered prior to the 2014 season.
