Tommy Lemons, Jr. is undefeated on the 2016 season so far following wins at Myrtle Beach Speedway and Caraway Speedway on the opening two weekends of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car racing.
Now with a week away from the track Lemons readies to head back to Myrtle Beach Speedway for twin 40-lap Late Model Stock Car races in his Lemons Motorsports entry. Lemons took the lead just past halfway in the IceBreaker 200 back in February and led the final laps of the race on the way to his first victory at Myrtle Beach Speedway.
This weekend he’s hoping to continue his win streak with the twin 40-lap races on tap.
“This won’t be anything like the last race we won at Myrtle Beach,” said Lemons. “150-laps is a lot different from running twin 40-lap races. You can’t ride and wait for an opening. In this race we’ll have to be ready to attack and go after the win. I think it will be a lot different but I think we are ready for it.”
Lemons will be looking to keep his hot start going.
“We’ve had a great start this season. It’s what you want every season but we know this doesn’t come without hard work and of course eventually win streaks come to an end. We hope that won’t be this weekend but we’re pretty happy with how things have started and we’re looking forward to running strong all season long.”
