DAYTONA BEACH, FL :: Kyle Larson picked up the win in the first heat race for the UNOH Battle at the Beach on Monday night after pole-sitter Nate Monteith was swept up in an accident on the first lap. Falk dominated the early portion of the 25 lap race but the phenom, Larson, found his way to the front and held off a challenge from Anthony Anders to score the victory in the first of two heat races.
Monteith, who was fast in practice and qualifying, had issues much of the race. He found himself tangled up again later with Southwest Florida driver LB Skaggs.
