DAYTONA BEACH, FL :: Matt Kurzejewski has had success in UARA competition and has competed in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.  Now, he’s racing on stock car racing’s biggest stage, the Daytona International Speedway.  He will be competing in Saturday’s ARCA race at Daytona, the golden anniversary of the series’ biggest race.

Daytona will be part of a limited schedule for Kurzejewski, who will run nine races for Bob Keselowski in the 2013 ARCA tour.   Kurzejewski is also hoping to make a couple runs in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season.  He knows winning at Daytona won’t be an easy task though.

“It’s hard to go down there and compete with Venturini,” Kurzejewski said.  “They’re always tough and everyone knows they’ll run well, as well as Frank Kimmel and Bobby Gerhart. I feel good about it for the most part.”

Daytona will be Kurzejewski’s second career ARCA start.  His first ARCA start came in the 2008 ARCA final at Toledo, an instant classic that hosted an epic, Days of Thunder style championship battle between Scott Speed and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.  Kurzejewski finished 18th in the race.

This year, Kurzejewski is in it to have fun.

“We’re going to run nine ARCA races and maybe some Trucks,” he stated.  “I’m doing it for fun for now.  I’m busy with work, having a job and everything.  It’s hard to keep up with everything and taking a week off.”

Kurzejewski was 30th fastest in Thursday’s ARCA practice session which was cut short by rain.  The 50th Lucas Oil 200 presented by MavTV at Daytona can be seen on Saturday at 4:30pm EST on SPEED.
