Kingsport Speedway is set to fly the final checkered flag of the season this Saturday, Oct. 31.
The Fright Night 300 will feature a 125-lap, $6,000-to-win Late Model Stock Car event. Also on tap will be a 50-lap, $1,000-to-win Street Stock/Modified Street race and a 40-lap, $500-to-win Pure 4 dash for cash. Three 20-lap heat races will also take place to set the field for the main event.
“We have a full day of fun and exciting racing planned,” said Karen Tunnell, general manager and promoter. “It’s our goal to put on an awesome show and have everyone home in time to take the kids trick-or-treating.”
Five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series winning driver Jeremy Mayfield will be in competition on Saturday. Mayfield will be piloting a Late Model Stock Car around “The Concrete Jungle.” This will mark Mayfield’s first time making laps at the 0.375-mile concrete oval.
An on-track trick-or-treat session will take place following the heat races. Children 12-and-under will be able to participate in a costume contest also during this time.
Grandstand gates open at 12:30 PM on Saturday, qualifying begins at 1:10 PM, heat races get underway at 2 PM with featuring races beginning at 3:20 PM. Adult grandstand admission is $15 and children 12-and-under admitted free.
Open practice is scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 12 PM until dark and Friday, Oct. 30 beginning at 12 PM.
