For the second consecutive week, Kingsport Speedway has stripped Kres VanDyke of a victory after he failed postrace technical inspection.
VanDyke and Zeke Shell were both disqualified on Friday, July 31st.
“Following the Late Model Stock Car race Friday night, August 7, the exhaust systems on the top three finishers were inspected,” Kingsport Speedway public relations Chase Brashears said in a statement to RACE22.com. “After the inspection process had concluded, the exhaust on the No. 15 driven by Kres VanDyke did not pass. The inspection was double-checked over the weekend until a final decision was made on Monday.”
Wayne Hale was credited with his first win of the 2015 season as a result of VanDyke’s disqualification. Wayne Hale picked up a victory on Saturday night at Lonesome Pine Raceway, splitting a twinbill with VanDyke.
