Josh Berry has made a statement early that he will be the car to beat in tonight’s CARS Tour Liberty University 300 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
The former Hickory Motor Speedway champion was fastest again in the second practice session with a 15.146 second lap. Brayton Haws, who won the CARS Late Model Stock Tour race back in May, was second fastest with a 15.148 second lap while Martinsville winner Tommy Lemons, Jr. had the third fastest time with a 15.157.
Spencer Davis and Christopher Bell, who are joining Josh Berry in the quest for the $40,000 double dip bonus, were fourth and fifth. Deac McCaskill was sixth while Clay Rogers, Myatt Snider, Jamey Caudill and Shane Lee rounded out the top-10.
Snider, Haws and McCaskill all enter tonight’s race with a shot at the inaugural CARS Late Model Stock Tour championship.
