Jeb Burton and H.C. and Peyton Sellers have announced that they’ve teamed up to form Sellers Burton Racing. Their first race together will be this Saturday April 2nd at Southern National Motorsports Park in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car season opener.
Burton, the son of former Daytona 500 winner Ward Burton will compete in the car this weekend in the CARS Tour event but the seat will be available to other up and coming young drivers for the remainder of the season. Burton also competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Richard Petty Motorsports.
Burton is just a couple of seasons removed from competing in the Late Model Stock Cars full-time when he competed at area tracks such as South Boston Speedway and Ace Speedway. Burton scored his first career win at Ace Speedway before moving up the racing ladder.
H.C. and Peyton Sellers have spent their lives in and around the Late Model Stock Car racing community competing at tracks all over the region with Peyton as the driver and H.C. turning wrenches. Peyton is a former NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion and is competing this season behind the wheel of the famous Clarence’s Steakhouse entry.
Burton will add his name to a growing list of drivers who will compete in the 150-lap CARS Tour event this Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park. It’s expected to be one of the biggest Late Model races of the season.
