Josh Berry has been stripped of his win at Hickory Motor Speedway, according to a report from Speed51.com’s Rob Blount.
Berry had won the race driving for Michael Faulk and Lee Faulk Racing as opposed to JR Motorsports because Bobby Pierce was making his JR Motorsports debut in Berry’s ride. Following the race, Berry was disqualified because of an infraction with the right rear shock absorber.
Faulk told Speed51.com that he was informed of his disqualification on Monday.
“Basically there’s a lot of grey area in the rule book about which pistons you can run in the shock and which ones you can’t, and which ones are approved and which ones are not,” Faulk said in the Speed51.com interview. “The way the rulebook reads is’any approved high flow piston’. In the rule book it doesn’t list which are approved and which are not, so I assumed any decoupled high flow piston was fine. But apparently that is not the case.”
Landon Huffman, who was credited with a second place finish, inherited the victory.
