WAKE FOREST, NC :: Brayton Haws is hoping to make the field and log laps at Martinsville Speedway in Sunday’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 ahead of a full time stint in the UARA-STARS tour in 2014. Haws will be making his fourth career Late Model Stock Car start if he makes the field for Sunday’s race.
Haws has made three Late Model Stock Car starts in his career with his best finish being a fifth place finish at Hickory Motor Speedway earlier this season. Haws has also recorded a Limited Late Model victory at Hickory.
“My expectation for Martinsville is to get some driver experience,” Haws explained. “It’s a very long race so I want to get more experience so I can be more ready for it next year. With a good crew behind me and everything they’ve done, I definitely think I can make it in the race.”
Haws will be competing for Lee Faulk Racing. He will race for Lee Faulk Racing in 2014 in the UARA-STARS Late Model touring series.
Haws will be one of the youngest drivers in the field at just 14 years-old. Haws has worked his way through the ranks after getting his start in go-kart competition.
“My dad used to race go-karts before I was born,” Haws remarked. “When I was four years old, he got me a go kart. I raced them when I was four and continued to do so until I was 11. After that, I moved to Bandeleros and Legends and then Late Models.”
