SOPHIA, NC :: Kyle Grissom led 65 laps in the Krazy Kevin Powell 150 at Caraway Speedway en route to his second PASS South Super Late Model Series victory of 2013. Grissom passed Brandon Ward on a restart on lap 85 after Brandon Ward did not get going on the restart. Grissom inherited the points lead from Jay Fogleman, who finished second, by virtue of the win.
Jay Fogleman, who raced in the Coulter Motorsports machine, challenged Grissom in the closing laps for the win but couldn’t get close enough to make the pass.
Jared Irvan finished in third, his best career finish. Irvan ran inside the top 10 all race long and worked his way up to third. John Batten and Justin Allison, who finished fourth and fifth, also had career best finishes. Kevin Powell finished sixth.
Bobby Measmer, Jr., who was involved in three separate incidents in the race, rallied from an early spin to finish seventh. Brandon Lynn, Kyle Moon and Randy Gentry rounded out the top 10.
Trevor Noles won the Pro Late Model Foot Hill Ford 50 lap race with Jared Fryar and Jeff Batten finishing second and third. Harrison Burton and Kodie Conner rounded out the top five.
