2015 late model track champion David Roberts will return to defend his title this season, as will Super Renegade champion Tim Sams, Renegade champion Bobby Emory, Pure Street Stock champ Freddy Hale and Four-Cylinder FWD champion Don Tavernia.
Track Promoter Anthony Anders has several “Twin 75” programs for the late models on the schedule this year, featuring two 75-lap features for the track’s premier division.
The first set of “twins” will take place on opening night, March 5th.
On the weeks that the late models aren’t racing, fans will find a variety of different headline divisions, including the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (two shows), the Southeast Limited Late Model Series (three shows), the Pro All Star Series (PASS) South super late models (two shows) and the Southeast Super Trucks (two shows).
One of those improvements is a low-power FM radio transmitter that will allow the fans to hear the PA system by tuning any FM radio to 107.7 FM while on the speedway grounds.
“We wanted to find a way to allow the fans not just in the stands, but in the infield and on the backstretch to hear the announcer while the cars were racing,” Anders explained. “We have installed the transmitter and fans can use FM headsets, boom boxes or even the radio in their vehicle to pick up the PA system so they don’t miss anything. It will be good for our race teams as well.”
The track will have one more open practice session on Saturday, February 27th from 11am-5pm for all weekly divisions only.
