MYRTLE BEACH, SC :: Saturday night Myrtle Beach Speedway saw new winners in the Late Model. 13 Late Models took the green flag and Justin Milliken appeared to be on his game moving to the lead. Clay Thomas on board the Tommy Byrd was in pursuit of Milliken as they moved away from the rest of the field in the early going.
The race was heated as they battle nose to tail and it appeared they were going to be the class of the field. On lap seventeen Clay Thomas lost it in turn four and the yellow flag flew tightening up the cars. Thomas retired to the pits and was out of the action. It was now Milliken and Ryan Glenski from Mooresville, NC at it tooth and nail side by side and putting on the show. Behind them everyone else was putting on great racing. Notable among the those chasing the first and second was Sam Scarpelli who was holding down third and showing strength.
Ryan Glenski, eventually, made his move after going side by side lap after lap with Milliken to make the pass. The field started shuffling positions and Yarbrough passed Scarpelli as did Brent Brinson. When the checkers waved Glenski was first, Sam Yarbrough on his way to the track championship in late models was second, third was Millikens while Brinson ran fourth and Scarpelli garnered fifth.
