CHARLOTTE, NC :: McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and
Nesbitt Racing Enterprises announce solid results for 13 year old
Cole Glasson in the first points race at
Hickory Motor Speedway in the
Southeast Super Truck Series. Cole showed up for the first time ever at Hickory Motor Speedway and quickly picked up the racing line and gained speed every time outconsistently running in the top 10 during each practice session. Unfortunately in the last practice session, the #12
ProSoap and
AMTS truck had a problem with the engine and the team elected to go to the backup engine and missed the chance to qualify. This put the young driver at the back of a strong 19 truck field and facing a difficult task in front of him. During the race, Cole quickly got into his groove and consistently moved up the field avoiding each caution and finding himself within the top 10 before the halfway point of the race. Cole continued to battle hard until the checkered flag crossing the line in the 6th spot and posting some of the fastest times of the race in the final laps. His strong performance from P19 to P6 earned him his first “Rookie of the Race” and “Hard Charger” awards.
Glasson stated, “I am very happy with my results at Hickory and hope to build on the confidence gainedfor my upcoming races. I believe I could have improved my results if we had a few more laps because my truck was running strong. Thanks to my crew for working so hard to get the engine changed and allowing me to run the race. I also wanted to thank Mike Green and Ed Surrett for their help.” He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions as well as his many other sponsorsK1RaceGear, Dallas Karting Complex, Comet Cleaners, and Tyler Web Design.“I cannot thank ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions enough for their continued support in 2014, and we look forward to building on the results at the next race at Anderson Motor Speedway in a couple of weeks.”
Tonya McCallister, Glasson’s agent, states “I could not be happier with the results despite where we started the race. Cole showed the speed and drive to run at the front of the field and we have no doubt he will get better results by the end of the season. ” Martin Nesbitt, Team owner, went on to say, “Cole hadgreat results in the first points race of the season and unfortunately we could not have Taylor up there due to an unfortunate race incident but both drivers were fast all weekend and we believe both will be at the top of the Rookie standings. We are looking forward to Anderson and build on the momentum.”
