CHARLOTTE, NC ::McCallister Precision Marketing (MPM) and Nesbitt Racing Enterprise announce another top 3 finish for 13 year old Cole Glasson in the seventh points race of the Southeast Super Truck Series at Greenville Pickens Speedway. During practice, Cole made gains each session which was shortened due to rain. He was sitting in P14 and P12 after two practices of the strong 22 truck field. Cole continued to improve in qualifying posting the 10th fastest time and starting on the outside of row 5 in the 75 lap main event. At the drop of the green flag, Cole settled into P8 and hooked up with an eight truck breakaway pulling away from the rest of the field. The race had three cautions along with a red flag. On the last restart with 15 laps to go, Cole found himself in P5 with four fast veteran drivers sitting in front of him. At the restart, Cole quickly went on the attack running side by side laps with P4. Coming out of Turn 4, Glasson went underneath both P4 and P3 and took over the P3 spot going down the front straight. He was able to pull about a 20 truck gap on P4 by the checkered flag and posted his 2nd top 3 finish of the year as well as his 7th top 10 of the eight race season. Currently, Cole is sitting 2nd in the rookie of the year chase- 8 points back, and 5th in the overall championship race.
Glasson stated, “The team gave me an incredible truck for the race, and I was able to work my way through the field and avoid the cautions throughout the race. At the end, my spotter said “GO” and that is what we did; we attacked the last 15 laps and had a great result to show for it. I was able to get my first trophy in full size race cars on my birthday weekend which made it extra special.” He went on to thank his main financial sponsors of ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions as well as his many other sponsors K1RaceGear, Dallas Karting Complex, Comet Cleaners, and Real Sports Websites. “I cannot thank ProSoap and AM Technical Solutions enough for their continued support in 2014, and we look forward to the next race at Lonesome Pine Raceway in four weeks and chasing our first win of the season.”
Tonya McCallister, Glasson’s agent, states “We were thrilled with the results. The team gave Cole a great truck and he was patient throughout the race and attacked the last 15 laps to go from 5th to 3rd. Once again he proved he is a contender every race. We are hopeful we will get a win soon.” Martin Nesbitt, Team owner, went on to say, “We were able to make gains throughout practice and hit on a good setup for Cole that allowed him to be there at the end. We are pleased with the results and made up some points in the Rookie of the Year chase.”
