FRONT ROYAL, VA :: Garrett Bunch will be stepping up in 2014 to race in Late Model Stock Cars, racing an old Lee Pulliam racecar at multiple venues during the season.  Bunch’s main focus is to be competitive in the Dirty Dozen.

Bunch scored one victory in the Limited Late Model class at South Boston Speedway in 2013 running one of Lee Pulliam’s old cars, the same car he will run when he steps up to the Late Model Stock Cars in 2014.

“We’ve been running Lee’s old cars since we started running in 2012,” Bunch said.  “We bought a car from him in 2011 and been running ever since.  It’s the same car as last year.”

Bunch isn’t setting expectations too high for himself knowing the competition he’ll be racing against in 2014.

“We can’t set them but so high racing against those guys but our expectations are to be competitive in the first year and do good for Pulliam Performance and be competitive running against Deac McCaskill and Lee Pulliam,” Bunch stated.  “It’s going to be tough but we’ll try to do all we can.”

Along with running the Dirty Dozen, Bunch also plans to race at Caraway to prepare for Martinsville where he will make a bid in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 on October 5th.

“We’re mostly going to Caraway to get ready for Martinsville,” Bunch stated.  “We’re hoping to… I’d like to win at Caraway, Motor Mile and Southern National.  Running up there, it’s going to be tough.”

While others actively pursue opportunities to compete in ARCA and NASCAR, Bunch says he’s content with racing in Late Model Stock Cars.

“Right now we just want to stay in racing as long as we can,” Bunch explained.  “It’s tough to find money anywhere right now.  We’re just going to be stopping here in Late Models.  It’s not too bad to be racing at Motor Mile and Southern National against the best in the nation.”

The opening salvo in the Dirty Dozen and the season opening race of the season at Southern National Motorsports Park will be on March 1st.  RACE22.com will have Live Coverage of the race.
