Karl Weber already had a busy schedule when it came to competing in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South division in 2013. Today, it was announced that the 16-year old rising star known as the “Flying Farmer” will be making special appearances at Tractor Supply stores during the entire PASS South Tour, including this weekend’s Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway.

“I’m really excited about doing these appearances at Tractor Supply,” said Weber, whose family owns a large corn farm in Indiana. “They’re great business partners of ours and to be able to help them drive more customers is going to be fun. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The next appearance for Weber will be this weekend at the Tractor Supply store next to Hickory Motor Speedway on Friday from 10am-1pm. Weber has made two other appearances this season at other Tractor Supply stores before the events at Dillon Motor Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway. Those events went well enough for Tractor Supply company to agree to becoming involved with the team for the rest of the season.

“The first two were really fun and I think the people liked them,” said Weber. “We’re going to be doing a bunch the rest of this year and it’s a fun time for people. We have have giveaways and freebies and all kinds of prizes you can win. And, of course, I’ll be signing autographs and taking pictures.”

Weber and his Weber Farm Motorsport team is carrying the entire farming industry on their backs this season. With partners like Tractor Supply, Silveus Insurance, FarmLogic and Farm Journal’s Legacy Project, the team has captured the interest of agricultural families and companies nationwide.

A Future Farmer of America (FFA), Weber has been a hit at shows like the FFA Convention in Indianapolis and other farming-related events. He is the first formally-associated racing driver to the farming industry that professional stock car racing has seen in decades.

“We do a lot of corn on our farm,” said Weber, who is as well-versed in farming as he is the mechanics of his racecar, with a chuckle and a smile.

“We have a few million acres of corn that we harvest each year, me, my dad, and my mom helps too. We have others, of course, but we always try to do as much as we can ourselves.

“There’s a good chance that every time you enjoy a bag of chips from the store you’re eating a product produced from the corn we grew. In fact, the majority of our corn goes to those types of things in addition to ethanol and other products.”

Time trials for the PASS South Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway begin at 3:30pm on Saturday with last chance racing beginning at 6pm. Tickets are only $20 for adults and are available at the front gate.
