RACE22.com Release

Salisbury, NC(May 19, 2011) — For several weeks now we’ve been talking about the release of the first FDJ Motorsports Power Rankings of the 2011 season.

This week on RACE22 Radio we discussed the upcoming release of the Power Rankings for the Late Model Stock Car competitors in the Southeast region. The bottom 11 drivers in the FDJ Motorsports Power Rankings will be released tomorrow, Thursday, May 19th and the top 11 drivers will be released on Friday, May 20th.

After having the Weekly Tracks Power Rankings and the Touring Series, Late Model Stock Car drivers separated last year, we’ve decided to put them together. This way we can match up the best Late Model Stock Car racers whether they race the Weekly Tracks, NASCAR, ASA or non-sanctioned and the touring racers like the UARA-STARS Series drivers.

This move certainly makes our panel of voters job, just a little bit harder as comparing a guy who races only one track against drivers who race different tracks every week creates it’s own set of challenges. However, we’ve used this method before in the past and we feel that this is the best way to create a list of the Top 22 drivers anywhere.

“We’ve got a tough job ahead of us,” said RACE22.com founder and webmaster, Langley Austin. “Comparing a UARA driver, who races on a different track against varying competition every week against a guy who stays at one or maybe two race tracks all the time is a tall task. We certainly feel that this will give us the most accurate list of powerful drivers in Late Model Stock Cars today.”

Certainly comparing Brennan Poole’s three wins at three different tracks in the UARA-STARS Series against Philip Morris’ seven wins in a row at NASCAR sanctioned, South Boston Speedway will be a difficult job. As will comparing Lee Pulliam’s five wins at Motor Mile Speedway to Anthony Anders five wins at Greenville Pickens Speedway and two at Anderson Motor Speedway.

It’s going to be an interesting FDJ Motorsports Power Rankings for May 2011. After this list is released we will start having the Power Rankings monthly on RACE22.com, so we can see who will move up, who will move down and who will be at the top of the list each week.
