GREENVILLE, SC :: Dylan Hall, son of former NASCAR Nationwide Series competitor Shane Hall, hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and compete in the top ranks of NASCAR racing.  Shane Hall scored six top ten finishes over a career that consisted of 190 starts in NASCAR’s second-tier Nationwide Series.  He also has one start in the Sprint Cup Series at Rockingham Speedway, which is the site of the next UARA-STARS race that Dylan Hall will compete in.

“We just want to get some experience and go faster and just get the feeling for speed,” Dylan Hall said.  “We want to get to all these tracks and get experience everywhere.  I’ve got my dad to lean on.  He used to save at tracks.  I’ve got him to go to for advice.  I’ve also been using iRacing and see if that can help me go from the computer to real life and see if I can pick up similarities and learn some tricks.”

Rockingham Speedway will be the first track that Dylan Hall has raced at that is also on the iRacing.com racing simulator.

“I’ve never been to a track in real life that’s on iRacing.  For Southern National, I went to Lakeland (on iRacing) a lot and learned how to pass and moved people and learned about that.”

Hall has more modest expectations than most for his run in the UARA tour.

“Earlier in the season, I’m hoping for top-ten finishes and to see if I can run with them and get in pack racing.  Later this year, I’m not expecting to win but I’m hoping we can run top five somewhere around there.”

Hall got in to racing when he watched his father race in NASCAR Nationwide Series racing.  He says he’s learned a lot from his father and is hoping to learn more about how to conserve equipment.

“My Dad raced Nationwide for a long time and I went to the racetrack with him and I’ve loved it ever since,” Hall explained.  “I learned a lot at Southern National and Hickory.  At SNMP we made the mistake of burning tires up and I learned to conserve the right rear and roll the throttle at Hickory.  Going to new tracks, my dad went there a long time ago; I leaned on him a lot for advice.  He coaches me.  He’ll coach me through the whole year telling me where to be at.”

Hall hopes to make it up the NASCAR ranks.

“For sure I want to do NASCAR.  I know it’s a struggle to get there and it’s hard to get there but I want to go there for sure.”

Hall is looking for sponsors.  He is currently supported by AutoBank anf Signs and Stuff Inc.  He will be competing in the UARA-STARS race at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday.
