With eight features on the card at Three Palms Speedway on Saturday night, three of the features were from the previous week’s rain out. It looked almost like it should be a “Dean’s Tree Service/Race Car Engineering sponsored event” or if you win the first feature you win the second feature night.

The Pro Trucks were the main attraction for the evening. They had a strong field of trucks but the first feature of the evening was Bombers. Dean Butrum of Dean’s Tree Service/Race Car Engineering picked up two wins in the division for the evening. He was nursing an injured leg after receiving stitches earlier in the week from working on the race cars in the shop. Deans orange number 32 was running hot both ways Saturday night. He blew a radiator hose in the first feature in victory lane. When he won the second feature he said in victory lane, “She is running hot again”. James Della finished second to Dean in both features.

Street Stock action saw Jeff Firestine in his Dean’s Tree Service/Race Car Engineering machine take top honors in both features. He said in victory lane, “I have couple more to try to get the sweep or maybe try to win the lottery.” Richard Nelson finished second in both features. Steve Jones was third in the first feature and James Dellea was fourth. The two drivers reversed their positions in the nigh cap.

Jason Shulko from Sarasota won both features in the Outlaw 4s. In the first feature Chris Mithaler finished second to his twin sister Kristen. Jerry Grove finished fourth. The nightcap saw Jerry finish second as Chris and Kristen tangled in turn one trying to run down Jason Shulko. Kristen’s car broke a wheel and spun. She was taken to an area hospital and treated and released.

The dwarf class saw Andrew Payer take the win in a large field over Larry Hubbard III. Third went to Larry Hubbard, Jr.

Pro Trucks took to the track for the final event for the evening. Chad Chastain wired the field in his watermelon Chevy truck for the win. Jeff Firestine subbing for Dean Butrum in his Dean’s Tree Service/Race Car Engineering Ford took second. Robert St. John from Arcadia was third. Richard Griffis and Jason Kuykendall rounded out the top five. The feature action also saw David Patterson injure his shoulder in a turn two spin.
