Oak Hill, WV(July 27, 2012) — After a strong top ten run at Myrtle Beach Speedway in his Late Model Stock Car debut there, Sammy Jasper is ready to make another debut as he competes on the 4/10 mile Caraway Speedway for the first time.
Jasper has been solid in three previous UARA-STARS Series starts this season with his best finish coming at Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, TN, where he placed second. With all of the races out of the way that Jasper won’t be competing in, the remaining eight races on the series schedule start with a triple header over the next three weekends.
This weekend the series rolls into Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC, then heads to Concord Speedway in Concord, NC and finally to Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC to finish the three race stretch. Caraway will play a pivotal role in this three race stretch and Jasper is looking to get started on a good note.
“I’ve never raced a Late Model at Caraway, like many of these tracks that we go to,” said Jasper. “But, we’ve had better luck so far this season on the tracks that we’ve never raced on, so I’m hoping Caraway Speedway will treat us the same way.”
Jasper will have some very experienced Caraway Speedway racers helping him out from his crew chief, Ed Berrier, who has several wins as a crew chief on the track and with his driver coach, Alex Yontz, who has won many races as a driver on the track, including one this season.
“I’ve got Ed(Berrier) and Alex(Yontz) to lean on for this track for sure,” continued Jasper. “Those two know as much about racing there as anyone and if I can pick up on all the things that they can teach me, I know we can be in contention for a top five if not a win.”
Jasper is supported by Sanshell Products, Friends of Coal, Parrott Race Consultants, Fat Head Racing, Performancenter Racing Warehouse and RACE22.com.
