LUCAMA, NC :: The most unique touring division in the recent history of short track racing kicks off today at Southern National Motorsports Park and we have the actual green flag time, the entry lists and some cool facts about the first race of the brand new CARS Super Late Model and Late Model Stock Tour.
What time do the races start today?
Featuring twin races for the Super Late Models and Late Model Stock divisions, the X1R 300 is scheduled to go green at 7:05 p.m. The Super Late Models will race first while the Late Model Stocks will follow shortly afterwards.
Race name/distance?
Tonight’s race is the X1R 300 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C. — the first event in the history of the new CARS Racing Tour. Each race is 150 green flag laps, providing a total of 300 laps in Northeast North Carolina.
Television and Live Streaming?
The complete CARS Tour schedule will be broadcast over the internet on RACEFEEDX – a leading digital motorsports streaming provider. The PPV broadcast can be purchased for $18.00, which is two dollars less than a general admission grandstand ticket.
*** NOTE: If you’re out and about today and can’t watch to the race, make sure to follow @Race22 and @MattWeaverSBN on Twitter. They will be tweeting live updates throughout the event. ***
Tickets?
Southern National Motorsports Park has not yet announced a complete sellout but the best seats will go on a first come, first sever basis. The same applies to trackside parking, a hot commodity given the cold weather expected throughout the night in northern North Carolina.
Weather?
There’s no other way to say this: The X1R 300 is going to be a cold one, folks. While there is no chance of rain, green flag temperatures are expected to be near 40 degrees with near freezing temperatures likely to roll in by the end of the festivities.
Last year?
This is the debut event for the CARS Tour. As a result, this is the first event for the tour formerly known as the Hooters and X1R Pro Cup Series. The league has since abandoned the Pro Car as its signature chassis, moving to twin features for the Super Late Model and Late Model Stock divisions respectively.
