Sophia, NC – The 10th annual Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout presented by PPG promises to be among the best events in the history of the annual showdown between the best Modified and Super Late Model drivers from across the Eastern United States.
Caraway Speedway will host the event for the second consecutive year, and track operators Darren and Renee Hackett are excited to put their best foot forward in 2012. The Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout presented by PPG will take place November 8-10 on the historic half-mile oval.
“Last year was our first year with the North-South Shootout, and it all came together very quickly,” Renee Hackett said. “Now that we’ve had a chance to plan for it for an entire year, we’re really excited to have the best short-track drivers in the country heading to Caraway to put an exclamation point on the 2012 season.”
In addition to the North-South Shootout staple Tour Modifieds and SK Modifieds, the Super Late Models of the Pro All Stars Series will make their first appearance at the North-South Shootout for a 150-lap event as part of their national championship series.
Practice and qualifying will be held on Friday, November 9, with consolation rounds and feature events slated for Saturday, November 10.
A total of seven feature races will be held as part of the Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout presented by PPG – in all, more than 600 laps of feature racing for the Tour Modifieds, SK Modifieds, PASS Super Late Models, Legends, Lite Modifieds, Sportsman and Super Trucks.
“This is the most ambitious schedule we’ve had yet for the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway,” Renee Hackett said. “It’s going to be a great day for all the racers, teams and fans involved.”
