RALEIGH, NC :: Bradley McCaskill will be joining his cousin, Deac, in the Late Model Stock Car division at Southern National Motorsports Park in 2014. McCaskill will be running a Late Model for Louis White in Saturday’s season opening race.
“I raced for him last year at Myrtle Beach in the Limited division so he got a Late Model Stock Car and get to shake it down for him and see how we run the first race,” McCaskill said. “We’ve got our other car too. We’ve got a new car this year. If I can drive for Louis, I will.”
McCaskill’s car will likely be run in the Limited Late Model division at Southern National where he won seven races in 2013.
“My car doesn’t have a motor right now,” McCaskill stated. “I messed the motor up two weeks ago. It’s up in the air what we’ll do with our car. If I had to guess, we’ll run Limited in our car and Late Model in Louis’ car.”
McCaskill is excited about racing his cousin, two-time defending track champion Deac McCaskill, but says he’s ultimately just another driver in the field when he puts his helmet on and straps in to his racecar.
“There’s nothing there (in terms of just wanting to) outrun him,” McCaskill explained. “I just want to win. Deac’s one of the best Late Model drivers out there and racing him is awesome. In order to win, we have to outrun him. He’s just another car. We’ll race him with more caution though.”
Along with competing in Late Models on, at least, a part-time basis and Limited Late Models, Bradley McCaskill is also exploring options to run in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS).
“I have talked to a team that has a PASS car and we’re trying to put together a deal to run with them,” McCaskill remarked. “I’d like to but we don’t have a car anymore so we’d have to team up with somebody. I’d really like to run some PASS races this year though.”
Bradley McCaskill is sponsored by Grafix Unlimited, which is the decal design company McCaskill owns, Boyce McCaskill Auto Service and H&L Logging.
The season opener at Southern National Motorsports Park will be run on Saturday afternoon, March 1st. RACE22.com will be there with complete coverage of the race which will kick off the 2014 racing season.
