SOPHIA, NC :: Bradley McCaskill held off Buddy Allred and Mack Little during a green-white-checkered shootout to score the victory in Sunday’s Southeast Limited Late Model (SELLM) race at Caraway Speedway.  The victory was McCaskill’s second SELLM at Caraway this season and his sixth win of the year.

McCaskill qualified in the third position for the race but inherited the pole position when Ryan Shattuck, who had set the fast lap in qualifying, was sent to the rear of the field for an unapproved change to the racecar.  McCaskill surrendered the lead for the first 30 laps but, in the long run, his car came to life and he assumed possession of the lead on lap 30 and survived a spree of late race cautions and several challenges to score the victory.

“It took our car five or six laps to come in,” McCaskill said. “There were a lot of short runs at the end.  They had a handful of cautions after lap 80 and we had charges from three different guys.  It was tight racing.  We had a green-white-checkered.  Me, Buddy Allred and Mack Little we were all over each other at the end but the track position helped us a lot being up front.”

To date, McCaskill has scored six wins at three different tracks in 2013 (Caraway, Dillon and East Carolina).  Both wins at Caraway came in SELLM competition.  With Myrtle Beach right around the corner for the SELLM competitors, McCaskill is already looking ahead to that race.

“The Southeast Limiteds, your best drivers are there and the most competition and that’s why we go there,” McCaskill stated.  “To win back-to-back is pretty awesome at a track I’ve never ran a whole lot at.  Mack Little has got a ton of laps at that place and, to outrun him is really big.  We’re going to try it again at Myrtle Beach and see if we can go three-for-three.”

The SELLM race at Myrtle Beach Speedway will be held on Sunday, November 16th.
