Deac McCaskill might be the favorite to win in the CARS Late Model Stock Tour portion of the Solid Rock Carriers 300 at Southern National Motorsports Park on Sunday, but younger cousin, Bradley McCaskill, expects to have a say in the outcome of the race.

McCaskill, 29, from Archer Lodge, North Carolina, has won multiple races over the years at Southern National, including a win last spring over older cousin Deac.  This year, McCaskill hopes he can upset the field, like he did at Concord Speedway in 2015, and score his second career CARS Tour victory.

“I feel like we have a great shot at it,” McCaskill told Race22.com.  “We are really happy with our new TORP chassis after the first race on it down at Myrtle Beach.  We also have a fresh engine from John West and we have support from WP Shocks.”

Last fall, McCaskill closed out the 2018 season with a third-place finish in the Thanksgiving Classic.

“Southern National is a good track for us for sure,” McCaskill said.  “We’re hoping to carry momentum from the Turkey race.”

McCaskill is not just hoping to win at Southern National on Saturday, but also hoping to win several CARS Tour races in 2019 – and possibly a championship at the end of the year.

“I feel very confident in our equipment,” McCaskill remarked.  “We will be going for wins.  The championship usually takes care of itself.”

Away from the track, McCaskill is the proprietor of Grafix Unlimited – a graphics and decal company in Raleigh that designs the wraps for many of the cars that compete in the CARS Tour.  McCaskill has one win in the CARS Tour which came in 2015 at Concord Speedway.

Race22.com will have live updates throughout Saturday’s Solid Rock Carriers 300 at Southern National Motorsports Park on RaceDay Live.  Additionally, for people unable to attend, Pit Row TV will broadcast the race live on CARSTour.TV.
