LUCAMA, NC – Racers who compete at Southern National Motorsports Park during the regular season will be eligible for bonuses during the Thanksgiving Classic, starting with next weekend’s Dogwood 265.
Drivers who race in the Late Model Stock Car division are eligible for a $1,000 bonus for every race weekend they compete in if they win the Thanksgiving Classic in November. That means, if a driver runs all five scheduled events, they could take home $5,000 in bonus money if they prevail in the winter highlight.
“I keep saying it, but we’re giving racers all the reason in the world to come race at Southern National Motorsports Park this season,” Charlie Hansen, track General Manager said enthusiastically. “$3,000 to win minimum every race, $1,000 bonus for every race they compete in going towards the winner’s purse at the Thanksgiving Classic. Every top regional driver should be here to compete in the five Late Model Stock Car dates.”
In addition to the bonus money, drivers who compete in all five events will receive two free tires for the Thanksgiving Classic.
Racers who compete in all five events for the Charger division will receive free entry for the Thanksgiving Classic. Additionally, drivers competing in the Charger division who list Southern National Motorsports Park as their home track on their NASCAR license will receive a $65 tire voucher if they also elect to run in the Limited Late Model division, which kicks off its season on March 31st.
“We’re not just rewarding the Late Model Stock Cars, we’ve got something for all the divisions. The Chargers and Limiteds will be a part of the Thanksgiving Classic bonus program. That’s even bigger for those lower budget racers. They work blue collar jobs and save every dollar they can to go racing. We want to give back to them. I think the tire voucher for the Chargers wanting to run Limited will also be a big deal for those guys.”
The incentives for both the Late Model Stock Car and Charger divisions will take effect when the season begins in the Dogwood 265 at Southern National Motorsports Park on Saturday, March 3rd. The Dogwood 265 will also feature racing for the Bandolero and Mini Stock divisions.
