Dillon Motor Speedway hosted the Late Models, Chargers, Street Stocks, Mini Cup Stocks and Pure Stock Fours in the First Citizens 200 on Saturday, June 13.
BJ Mackey led flag-to-flag to capture the victory and $500 bounty in the Late Model feature on Saturday night. The bounty was on Bobby Gower who had won the last three races, but due to a 10th place finish, Gower wasn’t able to defend his dominance.
However, Gower and his team had a strong run considering the car was destroyed at Wake County Speedway just days before the race at Dillon Motor Speedway.
Randy Benson finished second, followed by a fantastic third place finish by Francis Marion University student, Cody McKenzie. Adam Congrove started second and finished fourth. Greg Peterson rounded out the top-five.
Brian Owens claimed his third win in a row in the Charger division. He held off Ben Watford, Kevin Ellis, Mike Watts and Jimmy Miller.
Gary Ledbetter went to Victory Lane for the first time at the speedway in the Street Stock division. Danny Brewer crossed the finish line in second, and Jeff Melton rounded out the top-three. Ricky Locklair Sr. finished fourth, and Justin Altman finished fifth.
Ricky Locklair Jr. took the checkered flag in the Mini Cup Stock feature. Logan Owens who won the Mini Cup Dash race finished out the main event in the second position. Steve Chauncey, Aiden Hetu and Tony Leviner rounded out the top-five.
Kevin Jackson won his first Pure Stock Four feature of the season at the speedway on Saturday night. JR Moore who has been dominating all season long had to settle for second. Making his first start of the season, Jason Beck finished third. Any Norton and Jake Fitzgerald finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Dillon Motor Speedway will host the First Bank 200 on Saturday, June 27. Late Models, Chargers, Street Stocks, Mini Cup Stocks and Pure Stock Fours will be competing.
