TURNER, ME :: Ben Rowe was quiet for much of 2013, scoring his lone win in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) in November at Caraway Speedway. He hopes to make more noise in 2014 as he will again return to run the entire PASS North tour as well as all of the PASS National Championship races.
“We’re going to run all the national races and the north races and run for points and a select few of the south races,” Rowe said.
He had originally planned to race at New Smyrna Speedway this weekend in the PASS Winter Meltdown before that race was cancelled as a result of miscommunication with the racetrack.
“We planned to head to Greenville anyways so we’ll head there,” Rowe remarked. “This didn’t matter to us except we were in North Carolina all weekend testing for Florida.”
Rowe, who is a seven-time champion in PASS, said the win at Caraway which snapped a winless drought dating back to September 2012 felt good.
“Any win feels pretty good,” Rowe explained. “We were running sixth or seventh and they all crashed in front of us. You have to be there when the time comes to capitalize. When it’s cold up north, we venture down south.”
Rowe has won four PASS North Championships, two PASS National Championships and one PASS South Championship. He will compete in the PASS 2013 opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on March 1st. RACE22.com will have Live Coverage of the season-opening Carolina 150.
