ST. CHARLES, MD :: While rain forced several racetracks to cancel races and other tracks had the week off, there was plenty of racing around the region over the weekend and a variety of different winners. Here’s a look back at the weekend’s races.
Ace Speedway: RD Smith scored the victory in the Late Model feature over Robert Turner and Dustin Rumley on Friday night. The victory was Smith’s first win of the year. For more information on that race, visit: http://www.acespeedway.com/full-coverage-results-from-mid-season-championship-620/
Bowman Gray: Tim Brown scored the victory in the Modified feature over Burt Myers and Danny Bohn. Derek Stoltz and Zach Clifton scored victories in twin races for the Sportsman division. The second Modified feature that was scheduled at ‘The Madhouse’ was cancelled due to rain.
Dillon: Matt Brooks held off Clay Jones and Jerry Miracle to score the win on Saturday night.
Langley Speedway: Ben Rhodes won his fourth consecutive race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at Langley Speedway on Saturday night in dominating fashion. Cameron Hayley finished second with Kenzie Ruston, Scott Heckert and Kaz Grala rounding out the top-five. Lonesome Pine Raceway: Chad Finchum scored his ninth overall win of the season and his sixth win of the season at Lonesome Pine Raceway, holding off a late race challenge from Kres Vandyke.
Myrtle Beach Speedway: Justin Milliken scored the victory in the first of two twin Late Model features at Myrtle Beach Speedway while Sam Yarbrough won the second. Milliken held off Ryan Glenski and Matt Cox. Cox finished second in the second race over Glenski.
Southeast Super Truck Series: Jeff Myers picked up the victory in the Martin Nesbitt Memorial at Newport Motor Speedway in Tennessee on Saturday night with Tim Lollis finishing in second, Kevin Leicht third and Dakota Slagle and Matt Leicht rounding out the top-five.
Racing at Kingsport Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park were cancelled due to weather. Kingsport’s next race will be on Friday night, June 27th while Southern National won’t be back in action until July 5th.
