GREENVILLE, SC :: Two-time defending NASCAR Whelen All American Series South Carolina State Champion Anthony Anders continued his winning ways on Saturday night when he picked up his sixth consecutive win in NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Car Racing. Anders picked up the win at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Saturday night, his third win at Greenville this season.
“It’s just awesome to keep this roll going,” said Anders. “Six straight wins, it’s just a blessing. I can’t say enough about all our guys. Right now, I feel like we could go anywhere and win races. It’s exciting to run this strong every single race and I hope we can keep this going.”
Anders qualified on the pole for the race with a 20.87 second lap. The top four cars were inverted forcing Anders to start in the fourth position. After about 10 laps, Anders had made his way to the lead and he never looked back en route to his sixth consecutive victory.
“We were good from the second we unloaded,” said Anders. “We qualified on the pole and started fourth after an inversion. It only took about 10 laps to get to the lead and, from there, we just didn’t look back. We’ve been good at Greenville all year. The good Lord’s just blessed us lately and it’s awesome for us to finally get the recognition we deserve.”
Anders has led the most laps and won every single Late Model race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway this season to date. His six race winning streak includes wins at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, Kingsport Speedway and Myrtle Beach Speedway.
“I felt like Kingsport was a 250 lap race at Myrtle Beach with all the cautions there,” said Anders. “It’s exciting to run well there and to be able to compete anywhere we go. It was just another great weekend for us. Hopefully there are many more weekend sweeps to come.”
Anthony Anders’ next race will be at Kingsport Speedway in Tennessee on Friday, April 5th. He will also compete in twin Late Model races at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on April 6th. Anders has already won as many races in 2013 as he won in the entire 2012 season in which he spent time leading the NASCAR Whelen All American Series National Standings.
