GREENVILLE, SC :: Anthony Anders’ streak of victories came to an end at Kingsport Speedway on April 5th, but that doesn’t mean he’s done winning races. After taking a week off from visiting victory lane, Anders was back in form this past weekend.
Anders started his weekend at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Friday night where he started fourth. He worked his way to the lead and ended up winning the race, his seventh win of the season.
“I’m just so blessed to keep winning races like this,” said Anders. “We had an awesome car out here. It was just hooked up. I’m really thinking we can win the track championship here at Greenville the way we’re running. We’ve got this place figured out and all we do is win out here. It’s just a blessing.”
Anders was back in action on Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway. He started in eighth and finished in seventh. While Anders was disappointed to not win, it marks consistency for Anders as he has finished inside the top ten in every race he’s competed in throughout the 2013 season.
“The car just didn’t run as well as we hoped here,” said Anders about Hickory. “We didn’t qualify or race well. In the end, we came away with a top ten finish. We want to keep winning races and keep branching out. Our cars are good, this team is awesome and I know we’ll get some more wins.”
Anders will be back in action this weekend where he will compete at Kingsport Speedway on Friday, April 19th and at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on Saturday, April 20th.
