Hendersonville, NC(December 17, 2012) — Before hopping into a UARA late-model, Sean Rayhall dazzled fans with his numerous wins in Legends. Rayhall continued his success as he made a smooth transition to the UARA-STARS.
During his rookie season with the UARA, Rayhall earned a Sunoco Pole at Kingsport and his first UARA career win at Caraway. With his win, he was awarded JRI Shock top finisher, Five-Star Bodies 1st place award , and Ford’s 1st place award. Along with winning races, he also brought home the Circle Wheel / Xtreme Trophy Rookie of the Race award three times.
“The win at Caraway was awesome, but we really struggled at qualifying,” says Rayhall. “Getting the pole at Kingsport made the statement that ‘We’re here and we’re competitive.’”
Rayhall also experienced downs as well as his success. At Anderson he jumped out front and led laps and was in high hopes for the win until a love tap from a fellow competitor caused him to fall back into the field. The misfortune earned him the ARBodies Hardluck award at Anderson. He also won the ARBodies Hardluck award at Tri-County for a flat tire that cost him the win and at Concord when he and Dillon Bassett made their famous contact that sent Bassett through the fence.
“I was a little disappointed by what happened at the end of the Concord race,” says Rayhall. “It’s been more of an eventful season than what I was hoping for, but through the ups and downs we’ve made strong comebacks.”
The Pistone driver has led numerous laps awarding him Tilton’s Most Laps Led at Concord and Kingsport. He has also won the Holley Performer at Tri-County for gaining the most position during the race. With his nine top-15 finishes he was won three WP Racing Shocks awards, Swift’s 3rd place twice, and Tilton’s 5th place award at Kingsport, where he also won Pigwire’s Electrifying move of the race.
Rayhall is scheduled to run the full UARA-STARS tour next season to run for the 2013 Championship. He also plans to squeeze some K&N races during the 2013 season.
