Layne Riggs picked up from where he left off in the VisitHampton.com 125 at Langley Speedway on Aug. 29 by laying down a blistering lap of 16.133 in qualifying to earn the pole for tonight’s Solid Rock Carriers 125 at Carteret County.
Riggs will attempt to become the first repeat winner in the Solid Rock Carriers CARS LMSC Tour this year, but he will have to fend off challenges from drivers that include outside polesitter Brandon Pierce, who has not visited victory lane since Southern National Motorsports Park in 2019.
Mini Tyrrell will attempt to claim his first career CARS LMSC Tour win from the third position, while series points leader Jared Fryar lines up in fourth. Trevor Ward posted a Top 5 qualifying lap in his first race back with the series since the Catawba Valley 250 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
