As Motor Mile Speedway closes the curtain on the 2019 season on Saturday, September 7th, the Super Street division will go out with a bang.

The Super Streets will race for $1,000 to win and $125 to start in an extended 50-lap race to end the 2019 season. 23 drivers have made at least one appearance at Motor Mile Speedway in this division this season and with more money on the line, several new drivers can be expected along with many of the drivers who’ve only run a couple of races returning to finish out the season.

The Super Street division is the newest and fastest-growing division at the track. They started the division in 2017 after struggling with car counts in their traditional Street Stock division. This division features more of an open rules package compared to other divisions with most perimeter chassis allowed from a Cup Style chassis to a Late Model Stock Car and older Street Stock chassis, who receive a substantial weight break, plus any engine and any carburetor, a spec Pro Shocks program and a smaller eight-inch Hoosier 890 limiting the speeds of these cars despite the unlimited horsepower potentially under the hood. Offset chassis aren’t allowed.

Five different drivers have won over the course of the season with only two drivers winning more than once. Dennis Holdren and Kyle Barnes, who both missed the season opener have won multiple races with Holdren winning four times this season in just eight starts. Holdren and Barnes come into the finale first and second in points with six wins among them.

Other winners from this season will be looking to get back to victory lane including Kirby Gobble, Scooter Hollandsworth, and Matthew Gusler. Many drivers who haven’t been to victory lane yet will also be looking to get their first win in the extended laps feature including Wayne Corprew, who utilizes an old ARCA chassis. With the open rules, many cars are allowed that no longer have a place to race around the region.

Motor Mile Speedway will pay their normal Super Street division purse and additional money will be paid in cash at the end of the night. The additional money comes from sponsorship from Lendmark Financial in Wytheville, VA, R&C Towing in Wytheville, VA, Andy’s Speed Shop in Draper, VA, Blake Construction in Roanoke, VA and Blue Ridge Tire of Galax, VA.
