A small, but talented field of drivers arrived at Southern National Motorsports Park to participate in the Dinah Marie Photography 75-lap Limiteds feature of the Solid Rock Carriers Thanksgiving Classic, but no one in the lineup had anything for Adam Murray, who picked up a dominating victory on Sunday.
Murray started his day on the inside of the second row behind polesitter Brandon Clements, but a bad start from outside polesitter Louis White moved Murray into the second position after only one lap. Murray wasted no time chasing down Clements for the lead, and was able to work his way around the 2018 Carteret County Speedway Late Model champion for the top spot before 10 laps had been completed.
While Murray proved to have the fastest car on the track, he would be challenged for the lead on several restarts from drivers such as Clements, Andrew Grady and Clay Jones, but Murray was able to hold his ground and pull away for the lead every single time. Grady proved to be Murray’s toughest challenger, but he had nothing for Murray in the closing laps, who held on to pick up the victory in the Thanksgiving Classic.
Clements was able to come home in the third position, while Clay Jones and Brian Obiedzenski completed the Top 5.
