According to multiple well-placed sources, promoter John Vick is leaving East Carolina Motor Speedway to assume the same role at Southern National Motorsports Park.
Vick would be assuming the promoter position vacated by Langley Austin. Austin, who is also the founder of RACE22.com, parted ways with the Lucama, North Carolina facility following Southern National’s NASCAR Whelen All American Series finale on September 13.
Both tracks have concluded their regular seasons, but feature marquee events in the coming month. This weekend marks the Halloween Spooktacular at Southern National for Limited Late Models, while Late Model Stock Cars will come to the 0.400-mile oval November 27th-29th for the Thanksgiving All-Star Classic. East Carolina Motor Speedway will host the Ronnie Barnette Memorial for Late Model Stock Cars on November 6th and 7th.
Southern National is expected to make an announcement in the coming days formally announcing the move. RACE22.com will provide more information on this as it becomes available, as well as coverage of tomorrow’s Halloween Spooktacular.
