Sophia, NC — The 50th Anniversary Celebration was a huge success and fans from all era’s of racing were in attendance to meet the Top 50 Drivers and 5 Wall of Fame Inductees. The event started out with an autograph session followed by awards presentations for the honorees. After all the celebrations were completed it was time to start the night of racing. The 50 Lap NASCAR Mini Stock event had a full field of cars. AJ Sanders and Chris Allison battled back and forth for multiple laps. In the end Allison would prevail with the victory. Sanders, Stephen Sanders, Chuck Wall and Mark Baker rounded out the top five finishers.
In the 50 Lap NASCAR Limited Late Model event Top 50 Driver Jimmy Wallace took home the win over Mack Little III (Top 50 Driver). Coy Beard, Archie Adams Jr (Top 50 Driver) and Ross Dalton rounded out the top five finishers.
In the 25 Lap Late Model Truck event Top 50 Driver Buddy Allred took home the win over Top 50 Driver Gene Kepley. Jason Grant, Eddie Collins and Ray Miller rounded out the top five finishers.
Jamie Ruddock took home the win in the 25 Lap Charger Event. Danny Brewer, Chuck Isom, Brian Pulley and Brandon Lucas rounded out the top five finishers.
In the 25 Lap Hornet event Kevin Bullins took home the win over Alex Whatley. In the U-Car ranks Zack Bralley went to victory lane.
The next event at the speedway will be Labor Day Monday featuring Twin 40 Lap Late Model Stocks. Gates open at 3pm and the racing action gets underway at 5pm.
