Ricky Bowers is set to race in the Southeast Super Truck Series for the 2015 season.  Bowers is slated for a full season with Eugene Leicht and Leicht Motorsports.

“I am excited to announce that I will be running a full season in a SouthEast Super Truck with Leicht Motorsports in 2015. We tested with the Leicht’s in early November, and it became apparent from then on that this was going to be the next step in my racing career. I would like to thank Tonya McCallister at MPM Marketing for all of her help in setting up this partnership. The Leicht’s have already had a lot of success, and I am thrilled to be a part of the team,” said Bowers.

Leicht Motorsports has a history of winning.  Eugene Leicht has built racecars most of his life.  He has built cars that have won all over the east including famed tracks such as Martinsville, Hickory, South Boston, and Myrtle Beach Speedways. Leicht also fielded cars for both his sons, which resulted in numerous races won in the Late Model Series and the Southeast Super Truck Series.  Eugene started building Super Trucks two years ago and has continued his success as a builder.   His son, Kevin won of the 2014 SEST Championship and son Matt finished in the top 10.

Eugene Leicht said, “We couldn’t be happier to add Bowers to our program.  It didn’t take long at the test to notice that Ricky has a lot of talent and he is going to fit right in with our program.  We spent the off-season building a new truck and we are excited for the 2015 season.  Tonya with MPM Marketing has a long history in racing and she does a great job with these up and coming racers, I am thankful she considered us for Ricky.”

Ricky Bowers will be entering his 11th season of racing in 2015. Bowers is coming off of a successful 2014 campaign in a NASCAR Whelen Modified. He raced against some of the best racers in Northern California. Ricky hopes to continue his success in the East, but knows he will have to earn it.

Bowers stated, “Through my racing career I’ve learned that you must stay humble especially when moving into a new vehicle and series.  You have to be willing to learn from the people around you, and earn respect from both your team and your competitors.”

The Southeast Super Truck Series is entering its 4th year of competition. Although a young series, the car count is high and the competition is fierce.  The series will run 12 races throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.  The full list of dates and tracks will be finalized and released soon.
