MYRTLE BEACH, SC :: Upon further review from last night’s post race events, the speedway has decided to deem all cars in question legal.
A higher authority in NASCAR was consulted on the decision and a decision was made by Myrtle Beach Speedway in the best interest of the track and integrity of the sport.
Considering the mass amount of cars that would have fallen victim to the call, we feel it’s best to address the situation as a safety issue moving forward which it is. With that being said, all teams have been notified to try and address the situation in the case it is checked again in 2015. Myrtle Beach Speedway will work with NASCAR in the off season to address a more defined rule package for the particular matter and others so all frequently asked questions relating can be answered.
In conclusion, we feel this is the best move to make moving forward considering ALL scenarios as we continue to embark on making the speedway bigger and better in the future. 2015 plans have already begun and we feel very confident it has potential to be our biggest season yet under the new Bob Lutz ownership era.
We would like to formally thank all those who have supported and competed with us in 2014. Our 2014 season only has a few races remaining. This coming Saturday September 20th will be Local Appreciation Night featuring the Coastal Pee Dee Super Trucks, Chargers, and Vintage Cars.
Saturday October 18th will be a TRUE NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model race running 100 laps on 4 new tires with the top two finishers securing a spot in the Myrtle Beach 400 Late Model race. The 2014 season finale will be the annual Myrtle Beach 400 on November 15th and 16th with the SELLM Pros, Challengers, and Mini Stocks and on November 22nd and 23rd with the NASCAR Whelen Late Models and Super Trucks
