KNOXVILLE, TN :: Chad Finchum scored victories over the weekend at Kingsport Speedway and Lonesome Pine Raceway in races that boasted full fields of Late Models.  Finchum’s victories came in three of four Late Model features he started this weekend – including a sweep at Lonesome Pine.

Finchum started the weekend off on Friday night at Kingsport Speedway where he scored the pole and led every lap in the first race.  Finchum had a shot in the second race at Kingsport but was swept up in an accident.  At Lonesome Pine on Saturday, he again recorded the fastest lap in qualifying.  He went on to win the first race by a sizable margin.  A late race caution in the second race allowed a competitor to get alongside on a restart to challenge Finchum but Finchum would hold off the challenge and go on to score the victory.

“We had a really good car this weekend,” Finchum said.  “I feel like we could have won both races at Kingsport but we just got caught up in somebody else’s wreck in the second race.  Our car at Lonesome Pine was very strong.  The late race caution really shuffled things up though.  We chose the outside on the restart and we ran side-by-side with another car for the final five laps but I was able to hold him off.”

Finchum’s wins were his fourth, fifth and sixth victories of the 2014 season.

Chad Finchum will be back in action on Friday night, May 23rd at Kingsport Speedway in Tennessee.
