GRUNDY, VA :: Rockin’ Ryan Stiltner added another win to his season record at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night when he won one of two twin races at the track. In a second feature race, he went on to finish second.
Stiltner held off several challenges from competitors to win the first race of the night, setting his win total to five at Lonesome Pine Raceway this season.
“Our car was really good tonight,” said Stiltner. “We won the first race and we gave it our all. I’m proud of the guys on the team. We really had to work for it tonight.”
Stiltner looked to sweep both races on the evening. He led early on and dominated the second twin 35 lap feature but lost the lead on a restart when another car was able to get around him. Stiltner chased him down and tried to make the move on the final lap but ended up finishing second by a margin of .006.
“I moved him like he would’ve moved me on that last lap,” said Stiltner. “That was racing. Checkers or wreckers. We’ll fix the car and come back. We could’ve won both races but just came up short.”
Stiltner has now won five races in 2013, with all his wins coming at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA.
Stiltner will be back in action on June 14th at Kingsport Speedway and June 15th at Lonesome Pine Raceway.
