COEBURN, VA :: Garrett Campbell took advantage of a late race restart to get around Travis Swaim to win the Courtesy Chevrolet 150 at Lonesome Pine Raceway on Saturday night.  Campbell took the lead on a restart on lap 127 and led the remaining 23 laps to score the victory.

“This thing was awesome,” Campbell said.  “We just rode behind Swaim on the high side trying tofigure out which line I needed to run and found that line.  I kept him ahead used the perfect line the last couple of restarts and it paid off in the end.”

The closing 25 laps was marred with cautions as several of the front running cars ended up getting involved in late race incidents.  Lee Tissot was running in third before he was involved in an accident.  UARA-STARS points leader Ronnie Bassett, Jr. also saw a top five run get spoiled.  The carnage allowed Dillon Bassett to sneak his way to a second place finish.

“We had a really good racecar but I messed up in qualifying,” Bassett said.  “We started 11th and we tried and tried to pass those guys.  It’s a hard track to pass at.  We had that long green flag run and I was just wondering when the race would end.  Then we got those cautions with 14 to go and drove the wheels off it.”

Travis Swaim, who led the most laps, ended up finishing third.

“I think we messed up on the restarts,” Swaim said.  “I was laying back and trying to get a run to build up a lead and Campbell just got by me.  These guys gave me a great racecar.  If we would’ve stayed green, there’s no way those guys could’ve got by me.”

Brandon Jones, who was running second with two laps to go, wound up finishing fourth while Devin Jones finished fifth.  The race, which was delayed briefly due to a rain shower, was run relatively incident-free until the final 30 laps.  Campbell was able to drive away from Jones on a Green-White-Checkered restart to win the race.
