Fantasy Predictions for 2016 Season

Top Three Drivers
1 – Peyton Sellers – Peyton Sellers is racing the full schedule at South Boston this season in the famous #26 Clarence’s Steak House entry.  He’s the odds on favorite for many reasons but the former National Champion looks to make a splash on what should be a huge season at South Boston.

2 – Bobby McCarty – Bobby McCarty broke through last season with his first career Late Model Stock Car victory and this season with some major changes in his racing program he’s ready to break into the battle for the championship.

3 – Matt Bowling – He’s the two-time and defending champion at South Boston Speedway and he’ll be in the thick of things but this season he’s got his hands full with a pit area full of cars.

Other Front Runners
Lee Pulliam – He’s a contender everywhere he goes and South Boston is one of those tracks where he wins a lot.  Lee likely won’t run for the title thus the reason he’s not one of the “Top 3 Drivers” above but he’ll mix it up for wins for sure.

Philip Morris – Everyone’s career has it’s ups and downs but as you get older you tend to crest and start back down the other side.  For Philip Morris it seems to be that time as his career is on the downhill side of things but he’s not done yet.  He won one of the season opening races last year and he could be a threat to win races this season when he competes.

Breakthrough Driver
Danny Willis, Jr. – I don’t know if he really fits this title.  I mean he’s been racing Limiteds so long he might as well be considered a Late Model rookie but he’s not even close.  This season he’s moved up to Late Models and he could very well make a huge impact on the season.

Rookie Threat
Trey Crews – He won four Limited Late Model races at South Boston Speedway last year as well as the division championship.  This year he’s moving up and he could very well be a threat to win races as he gains more experience in the Late Model division.

Brandon Pierce – Sometimes the equipment can elevate a driver.  In the case of Brandon Pierce that will likely be the case as he’s driving a car from the Nelson Motorsports stables, the same team that Timothy Peters competes for in Late Models.  Pierce doesn’t have a lot of experience but his team does.  That could make all the difference.
