The Piedmont Racing Expo will take place for the 33rd time this Friday and Saturday, January 18-19th at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC.

The Piedmont Racing Expo features a huge auction of parts for race cars as well as a motorsports expo for dirt and asphalt oval track racing and more. The expo will kick-off on Friday at 10:00am with the auction starting at 12:00noon.

The expo portion of the show will feature exhibit booths from some of the biggest names in the racing industry as well as tracks and series from around the region including Wake County Speedway, Southern National Motorsports Park, Carteret County Speedway, Ararat Speedway and so many more.

During both days of the expo, Race 101 will feature a one-hour free seminar on the basics of shocks, a shock graph and bumpstops. Race 101 owner Tony Blanchard will also be on hand both days answering questions and talking with racers. Blanchard hopes to help racers get answers to questions they may have to make their program better.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing some new faces and helping answer racers questions,” said Blanchard. “This will be a great opportunity for any racer to get some inside knowledge of shocks and other setup information that they may be wondering about.”

The show will continue on Saturday with another seminar by Race 101 as well as a Racer’s Reunion for retired racers from 11:00am to 3:00pm. It will feature racers such as Herbie Poole, Tiger Tom Pistone, Bill Blair, Roy Hendrick and many more. There will be live interviews with them as well as an autograph session and more.

In addition to the racers on hand, there will also be some great cars from back in the day on hand including Ronnie Sox 1964 Pro Mod Comet Drag Car and many others including a display booth all weekend from the Southern Ground Pounders. Ron and Amy Shirley from Lizard Lick Towing will also have a wrecker on hand as well as merchandise for sale.

The Piedmont Racing Expo and Auction has a lot to offer for motorsports fans of all kinds from the racer to the fan in the stands. Be sure to come out Friday at 10:00am or Saturday at 8:00am to join in on the fun and kick off the 2019 racing season. Admission is $10 for adults with kids 12 and under getting in for free.
