RICHMOND, VA :: To take a break from the grind of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Kyle Busch relaxes by doing more racing.

The all-time NASCAR Nationwide Series wins leader behind the wheel of his No. 51 AMF All Metal Fabricators Toyota took the race lead from David Ragan on Lap 8 and set sail for Victory Lane on Thursday night in the Danny Hamlin Short Track Showdown at Richmond International Raceway. It was the third time the Las Vegas driver has won this event, but the first at RIR. His previous two wins came at Southside Speedway in Richmond.

Ragan, who hung on to finish second, started from the pole position and quickly got past pole sitter Dillon Bassett on the first lap of the race.

Ben Rhodes finished third followed by Ronnie Bassett Jr. and Garrett Campbell in fourth and fifth, respectively. David Garbo, Dillon Bassett, Anderson Bowen, Jeremy Burns and Kyle Larson rounded out the top 10 finishers on the night.

The event’s proceeds go the Denny Hamlin Foundation.
