– Registration for the 2013 season is ramping up with several drivers and teams taking advantage of receiving the cost of their driver’s license fee waived when they register their team and car number before Thursday, January 31, 2013.

– Coleman Pressley, son of former NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner Robert Pressley, has registered the #59 with the series with plans to compete in 2013. The younger Pressley was the 2010 UARA Series and has made several NASCAR Nationwide Series starts with his best finish of 12th coming at Nashville Superspeedway driving for JR Motorsports in 2010.

– The 2012 series champion J.P. Morgan will be back again to defend his title in 2013 once again piloting the #23 SoldbyJackieMorgan.com Chevy Impala throughout the entire fourteen race campaign. Last season, Morgan scored wins in seven of the fourteen events never finishing worse than fourth en route to his championship.

EVENT SCHEDULE INFO/ADJUSTMENTS

– The 2013 season opening event at the Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, SC will kick off with an optional Friday afternoon practice session on April 5th. In addition to the available track time, teams will be allowed to get their race machines inspected by series officials to kick off the 2013 season. Stay tune to the series website for the complete event schedule as the season opening race draws near.

– In 2013 the Pro Cup Series will also move back the pit gate opening time to a little later in the morning allowing teams to be able to travel to races the morning of the event with ease. “We want to make our series as affordable as possible while still making sure our competitors get the maximum track time they need to be competitive. Based on feedback this should be a welcome thing to our event schedules,” noted series president, Jack McNelly.
