CALLAWAY, VA :: For the second year in a row Late Model Stock Car chassis builder, Racing Dynamiks will be sponsoring the season opening event at Franklin County Speedway.  The Racing Dynamiks 200 will kick off the 2014 season just as it did in 2013 with a full slate of racing on Sunday afternoon,April 13th at 3:00pm.

This will be the second season with the track operating under the guidance of promoter Langley Austin and Moonshine Capital Promotions.  Austin is excited to have Travis Sharpe and Racing Dynamiks back on board for the season opener again.

“I can’t say enough about how excited we are to have Racing Dynamiks and Travis Sharpe back on as the title sponsor of the season opening race,” said Austin.  “Travis and I grew up together at Franklin County Speedway with our fathers both being part of the tracks history.  It’s great for us to be able to support each other in business and for us to stick together as both of us grow in this business.”

Sharpe is also very excited to be a part of the future of Franklin County Speedway.

“I’ve believed in what Langley and his crew are doing at Franklin County Speedway since this deal was announced last year for him to take over,” said Sharpe.  “Our business has been growing and when they took over up there, the timing was right to support the track that gave birth to my career in racing.

“We’re excited to open the season at Franklin County Speedway with the Racing Dynamiks 200 for the second straight year.  With this race boasting the largest car count in 2013, we’re hoping that we can duplicate that in 2014 with several Racing Dynamiks customers coming from out of town to compete.”

Sharpe started his career in racing working on cars that his dad was crew chief for with some of the biggest names in this regions short track racing at the time.  He soon found himself behind the wheel of a four cylinder car and later a Late Model at Franklin County Speedway.  With success behind the wheel but without the funding to continue to climb the ladder Sharpe turned to turning wrenches for other drivers to make a living.  This led him to the NASCAR touring ranks where he’s currently the General Manager for Thornton Motorsports and driver Giles Thornton.

Sharpe’s Racing Dynamiks is an up and coming chassis company primarily building NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Cars on the east coast. Racing Dynamiks also builds chassis for Super Late Models and offers a house car program and driver development programs.

“We’re sure this is going to be one of the biggest races of the season at Franklin County Speedway,” said Austin. “With last year’s Racing Dynamiks 200 being the biggest car count for the Late Models of the season, this race is almost becoming our very own Daytona 500.  It’s just a great way for us to kick off our season with Travis and the Racing Dynamiks guys in a big way.”

Last season’s Racing Dynamiks 200, which launched the Moonshine Capital Promotions era at Franklin County Speedway, produced one of the most exciting races of the 2013 season.  The race boasted numerous lead changes.  The Racing Dynamiks sponsored car, driven by Steve Dalton, scored the victory in a spectacular primetime finish.

Details on the lap count for the Late Model portion of this race will be announced in the coming weeks as Franklin County Speedway continues to prepare for the 44th consecutive season of racing.  This season is anticipated as one of the biggest seasons in the tracks history with strong car counts expected in all six of the tracks regular divisions as well as visits from some of the region’s biggest touring series including the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Series Super Late Models.
