Newport, TN(October 5, 2012) – Newport Speedway will host 455 laps of racing during Saturday night’s Davy Crockett Championship race, which will host the 75 lap SouthEast Super Truck Series and four 50 laps late model races.  Dennis Queen, who has two wins on the season at Newport, leads the point standings but only 33 points separate four drivers entering the four races that will be run on Saturday.

Wayne Webb has four wins on the season in the late model sportsman division at Newport Speedway, but sits third in points, 23 points out of first place.  Zack Franks and Chad Finchum both have three wins on the season.

Justin Sorrow enters the SouthEast Super Truck Series final with a razor thin four point lead over Kenneth Headen.  Sorrow and Headen both have two wins on the season entering Saturday night’s season finale at Newport Speedway.  Matt Leicht sits third in points, 25 points out of first place.

The 275 laps of racing for the late model sportsman division and the SouthEast Super Truck Series are not the only races on Saturday night’s 457 lap racing program.  The mini cup cars will race for 12 laps, the front wheel drive cars will race for 60 laps, the street stock division will race for 75 laps and the pure stock division will race for 35 laps.  Following the pure stock race will be a fireworks show, concluding the 2012 racing season.
