TROY, NC :: Tommy Lemons, Jr. enters Sunday’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 with five wins on the 2013 season.  Now, he will chase his sixth win of the season looking to bring home a grandfather clock and $25,000.

Lemons had a fast car in testing last Wednesday and feels he should be able to make the race and run inside the top-10 in Sunday’s race.

“The car was really good,” Lemons said.  “First thing we have to do is make the race.  I think we should be able to do that.  There’s a lot of good competition but I don’t see why we shouldn’t get a top-10 finish.  We’ve had good cars all season but luck hasn’t been on our side and hopefully that will change this weekend.”

Lemons has victories this season at Caraway Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park.

“Winning at Caraway helps us,” Lemons explained.  “A lot of NASCAR drivers test at Caraway to prepare for Martinsville so there are some similarities.  The main thing at Martinsville is luck.  We’ve just got to be able to stay out of the inevitable carnage.  If we do that, I don’t see any reason we can’t finish inside the top-10.  Last year, we didn’t make the race so that’s our main focus.”

Lemons will be sporting a new paint scheme and sponsor for the race.  Freaker USA, a beverage insulator manufacturer out of Wilmington, NC has signed on with Lemons Motorsports.  Lemons will be sporting a pink car in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We’re excited to have a new sponsor come on,” Lemons remarked.  “It’s always good when you have new sponsor come on board.  We’ve got their logo on the hood this weekend and we’re sporting a black and pink car.  At the very least, we should have one of the best looking cars.  Hopefully, the car will look as good at the end of the weekend as it does at the start of the weekend.”

Qualifying for the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 will be on Saturday afternoon which will set the field for heat races.  The green flag on those heat races which set the field for the 200-lap feature will wave on Sunday afternoon at 12pm followed by the 200-lap feature event.  RACE22.com will have Live Coverage.  You can also follow Tommy Lemons, Jr. on Twitter at @Tlemons_Jr27 for updates all weekend.
